A Brief History

Established in 2007, Idiome Conception Linguistique offers a quality service in terms of translation, revision and writing of texts. Whether in the field of finance, in the legal field, in the field of insurance or in the field of literature, Idiome Conception Linguistique has all the tools and knowledge necessary to meet your needs.

 

Éric Charlebois is the president and proud owner of Idiome Conception Linguistique. He specializes in grammar, syntax, text structure and spelling. He translates from English to French and from French to English, then from German, Dutch, Portuguese and Romanian to French or English.

Translator, editor, proofreader, writer, content creator and entrepreneur, Éric Charlebois is passionate about languages. First and foremost a linguist, he takes grammar rules very seriously and loves to deepen his linguistic knowledge.

 

In 1999, Éric graduated from the University of Ottawa with a bachelor's degree in French literature and subsequently obtained his bachelor's degree in education at Laurentian University. In 2005, he continued his studies with a master’s degree in French literature and phenomenology to finally complete his master’s degree in literary translation in 2021. 

 

He is the author of nine collections in poetry, all written in French and published by Édition Le Nordir, Édition David and Édition Prises de parole. Éric is also the author of Sans pitié, a translation of the collection of the English-speaking Indigenous poet David Groulx, entitled Imagine Mercy. Also by David Groulx, he is the author of the translation of The Windigo Chronicles.

An important figure for the future of poetry for all Franco-Ontarians, Éric Charlebois won the Thrillium Poetry Prize in 2004 and in 2006, the Prix Le Droit in 2004 and was a finalist for the Prix Le Droit in 2009 and the Prix of the city of Ottawa in 2007.
